Terms of use

The rules for using Scry, in plain words.

  1. 1What this service is

    Scry lets you take a photo of a room, a car, yourself or something else, pick parts to swap, and see an AI-made picture of your photo with those parts changed (a “render”). Scry is run by the Scry team (“we”, “us”). By using it you agree to these terms.

  2. 2Who can use it

    • You must be 18 or older.
    • The service is made for people in the United States. Prices are in US dollars.
    • One account per person. You sign in with a link we send to your email, so keep your email account safe.

  3. 3Your photos: what you may upload

    Only use photos you have the right to use. In particular:

    • Clothing try-on only works with a live photo of yourself, taken in the app. Do not use it on anyone else.
    • The other categories are for things, not people. They refuse photos with a person in them.
    • If other people can be seen in a photo, you need their permission.
    • No photos of anyone under 18, no nudity, and no swimwear or underwear swaps.
    • Nothing illegal, hateful, or meant to deceive or harass someone.

    We never change a person’s face or body shape on purpose. A safety filter may block a render. We may remove content or close accounts that break these rules.

  4. 4What a render is, and is not

    A render is a picture made by AI to give you an idea of how something could look. It is not a photo of the real product and may get colour, size, fit or detail wrong.

    Always check the seller’s details before you buy. For car parts, check with a professional that a part fits your car and is legal where you drive.

  5. 5Renders, payments and no refunds

    • Every new account gets 1 free render. After that you buy packs (Starter: 25 renders for $4.99; Plus: 100 renders for $14.99). Each render uses one. Looking at your photo and picking parts is free.
    • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
    • Renders you bought don’t expire.
    • If a render fails or the safety filter blocks it, you get that render back automatically.
    • All sales are final. We don’t give refunds for packs you bought, used or not, except where the law requires it. Try your free render first to see if Scry is right for you.
    • If a payment is reversed or disputed, the renders it bought are removed from your account.
    • Invites: when a new account you invited buys its first pack, you each get 2 free renders. Only new accounts count. We may remove renders gained by gaming this.

  6. 6Shopping links

    We show products from other stores and link to them. The store sells the product, not us: its prices, stock, shipping and returns are its own and can change. Items marked as samples are examples and aren’t for sale.

    Most products come from a live search of online stores. We show the price the store listed when we found it, and we don’t check every listing. A render shows how the product might look in your photo; the real product can look different.

    We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. It doesn’t change your price.

  7. 7Share links

    When you make a share link, anyone who has the link can see that before and after picture. You can delete a link at any time from its page.

  8. 8Reporting a picture

    Every share page has a Report this picture link. Anyone can use it, with or without an account.

    • We check every report within 48 hours.
    • If a report says a picture is sexual or shows someone under 18, we hide it at once, before we check it.
    • We remove pictures that break these terms, and we may close the account that made them.

  9. 9Who owns what

    Your photos stay yours. You let us store and process them, and the renders made from them, so we can run the service for you (for example, to show them in My renders and on share links you make).

    You may use your renders for your own purposes, including posting them. If you post one, don’t hide that it was made by AI. If you send a share link to the gallery, you let us show it on our home page until you take it out. The app, its design and its code belong to us.

  10. 10Things you may not do

    • Try to get around limits, for example by making extra accounts for free renders.
    • Copy, scrape or resell the service, or try to break or overload it.
    • Use it to make pictures that mislead people about a real person.

  11. 11Our responsibility

    We work hard to keep the service running, but we provide it “as is”, without promises that it will always work or that renders will be accurate.

    As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.

  12. 12Changes and ending

    We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you on the site or by email before it applies. You can stop using the service at any time and close your account from the account menu. Renders you haven’t used are lost when you do.

  13. 13Law

    These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the Scry team is based. If you live in a state whose laws give you rights that a contract can’t take away, you keep those rights.
